Forvane Aluminum Oxide fibre discs deliver high-pressure grinding performance for general-purpose grinding, weld blending and surface preparation on carbon steel and common ferrous metals. The 5 in × 7/8 in format fits standard 7/8-inch arbor backing pads and is rated up to 12,200 RPM.
Choose the right grit
- 16–24 grit: heavy stock removal and weld cleanup
- 36–50 grit: grinding, edge work and surface leveling
- 60–80 grit: controlled blending and preparation

Do fibre discs require a backing pad?
Yes. Use a compatible backing pad sized for the disc and rated at or above the grinder speed. Confirm the 7/8-inch arbor fit before use.
Which grit should I choose?
Use 16–24 grit for heavy stock removal, 36–50 for weld grinding, 60–80 for blending and surface preparation, and 100–120 for finer finishing.
What is the difference between aluminum oxide and zirconia alumina?
Aluminum oxide is an economical general-purpose choice. Zirconia alumina is better suited to higher pressure and longer production runs where sustained cut rate matters.
How do bulk pack sizes work?
Choose a locked pack of 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 or 1,000. One selected pack is added to cart, preventing accidental non-standard quantities.
