Forvane industrial abrasives

Fast, controlled cuts for aluminum and soft-metal fabrication.

Forvane Non-Ferrous Type 1 cut-off wheels are formulated for cutting aluminum and other soft metals while also supporting stainless-steel applications.

Select the complete wheel dimensions—diameter, thickness and arbor—then choose a locked production pack. The thin .045-inch profile helps produce fast cuts with controlled kerf on fabrication work where a general steel wheel is not the right match.

Application-matched cutting

  • For aluminum, soft metals and stainless steel
  • Type 1 flat cut-off profile
  • Common 4-1/2, 5 and 6-inch sizes
  • Locked packs of 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 or 1,000

Confirm compatibility for the workpiece alloy, wheel size, arbor and maximum RPM. Use a compatible guard and all required personal protective equipment.

Wheel selection

Match the wheel to the cut.

.040–.045"

Fast, narrow cuts

Thin wheel profiles reduce kerf and cutting resistance when speed and precision matter.

1/16"

Balanced durability

A practical thickness for general fabrication where cut speed and wheel life both matter.

1/8"

Added stability

Choose a thicker wheel where durability and control are more important than the narrowest kerf.

RPM

Verify every setup

Never exceed the lower speed rating of the wheel or tool, and always use a compatible guard.

Abrasive guide

Choose the wheel family.

General purpose

For dependable day-to-day cutting on steel and stainless steel across the widest range of available sizes.

Non-ferrous

Application-matched for aluminum and soft metals where a general steel wheel is not the right choice.

Product questions

Cut-off wheels, answered.

What do the three wheel dimensions mean?

They identify diameter, wheel thickness and arbor size. All three must match the tool and application.

Should I choose general purpose, premium zirconia or non-ferrous?

Choose general purpose for everyday steel and stainless work, premium zirconia for demanding production cutting, and non-ferrous for aluminum and soft metals.

Can I use a wheel above its maximum RPM?

No. Never exceed the wheel rating. The wheel and tool must be compatible, and the lower maximum speed always governs the setup.

How do bulk pack sizes work?

Choose a locked pack of 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 or 1,000. One selected pack is added to cart, preventing accidental non-standard quantities.
